August 6, 2000: A feasibility study was performed on The Washington Post tray control system to determine if the OPTO boards would accept multiple trippers. Successful results indicated that their plant would be able to add additional purge points to the tray loop without adding more OPTO boards.

July 11, 2000: Additional Top Loader installed in the lower mailroom at the Springfield plant of The Washington Post. Modifications to the VAX/VMS based control system will allow newspaper bundles to be dropped into one of the two tray loops. A custom connector for the ink jet labeling was also installed on this line.

July 6, 2000: The The Columbus Dispatch tray control system was modified to prevent the software responsible for overall system timing malfunction when the OPTO boards have a communication failure.

June 30, 2000: Contract awarded by The Washington Post for the continued expansion of the Springfield plant. These latest modifications will allow for an additional Top Loader to be installed to the lower mailroom inserting lines, allowing delivery either to the tray loop, or directly to the docks.          

June 28, 2000: The Manifest Transfer program was developed for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune to accept the truck manifest from a PC instead of an IBM computer system. This approach allows the Star-Tribune to transfer manifest files via Ethernet cable to a PC that is connected to the Bundle Distribution System's MicroVAX via a serial port. Software written in Delphi 5, was installed on the PC by Warren Systems. Manifest Transfer is a system tray task that monitors a user selectable folder for the arrival of manifest files. Once a manifest file has been detected, HyperACCESS is invoked via OLE automation (COM - Component Object Model) to transfer the manifest file to the VAX. On the MicvoVAX, modifications allow the manifest to be processed as before.            

June 6, 2000: More modifications for The Columbus Dispatch will correct potential tracking errors due to communications failures.            

May 22, 2000: Minneapolis Star-Tribune needs modifications to transfer the Bundle Distribution System truck manifest from a different computer system to the MicroVax computers. Again, Warren Systems, Inc. is there to support their requirements!            

April 17, 2000: House call at The Columbus Dispatch corrected problems with the tracking and discharging of bundles due to sensor failure.
